Expatriates living in the UAE who are holding valid Partner, Investor, Employment or Golden Visa can sponsor the following family members:

  • Wife.
  • Son, till the age of 25
  • Unmarried daughters.
  • Parents
  • Parents in Law (in special cases which need immigration approval)
  • Housemaid / Driver

Expatriates working in private and public sector should have a minimum monthly salary as per the law in order to sponsor their family. Residency visas must be renewed before they get expired to avoid fines, it is also duly noted that staying outside the UAE for more than 6 months consecutively will result in the cancellation of the residency. Staying outside the UAE for more than 6 months consecutively will not result in cancellation of the residency if they are holding a golden visa.

Documents Requirements to Sponsor

  • To sponsor your wife, marriage certificate attested by your home country Legal department, UAE Embassy in Home Country (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) and also from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the UAE
  • If you are sponsoring your child/children, original birth certificates of children must be attested by the country department of health, UAE Embassy in Home Country (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) and also from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the UAE
  • Valid passport of family members. The passport needs to be valid for at least 6 months.
  • Passport-sized photograph. NOTE: For visa and Emirates ID applications, the photograph needs to be taken on a white background, with ears, forehead to chin completely visible and must be taken at a professional studio
  • A copy of your registered tenancy contract
  • If you are sponsoring your parents, you need to have at least a two-bedroom flat and a minimum salary of AED 20,000 a month or if you are a partner you need to provide the Trade License copy and Memorandum of Association.
  • If a woman is sponsoring her husband, the husband’s passport copy will also be required.
